What is Reiki?
Reiki literally translates as ‘universal life force energy’.
“A healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy to a patient’s body to assist and restore physical and emotional well being“. – Oxford dictionary.
This system of healing was developed by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. It is a non-invasive complementary therapy that has been taught and used in the UK Since the late 1900s but used in eastern medicine for thousands of years. This ancient Japanese practice acknowledges that energy flows through all living things.
This method of healing uses energy to balance the body and mind holistically, affecting the energy causing dis-ease in the body. This system of natural healing works on different levels of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, enhancing everything in life. At an atomic level, everything that exists in the universe is made up from energy vibrating at different levels.
Please take note; Reiki can support orthodox medicine, but is not a replacement for traditional medicine.
Drumming and Reiki
The use of sound throughout the history of many cultures is well known and is still practiced in many today. Now, more and more, the concepts of sound, vibration and frequency are studied and accepted in science as key existential components of all creation and matter. Music is organised sound and the intention behind it (transmitted by frequency in waveforms) can make change in one’s health, behaviour and psychology. ‘Our ancestors believed that music as well as movement had the power to harmonise one’s soul in ways that traditional medicine may not’.
I am a member of the uk Reiki Federation, and an intuitive spiritual practitioner.
The sessions I offer are full of compassion, gentleness, kind heart and strength. Reiki and spiritual healing are non-intrusive practices where you remain fully clothed (unless a massage has been included as part of the treatment, where this would have been agreed before you arrive). I am guided around the landscape of the body. Occasionally I may place crystals around the room or on the body. During the reiki session, you may or may not experience any sensations as there is no right way to experience Reiki, but you may leave with a sense of well being and relaxation.
Add a delicious back neck and deeply relaxing Indian head massage for a total price of £75.00
I may use drumming and or singing bowls when guided to do so and if appropriate. This will be agreed before the session commences.
When you arrive for Reiki there will be a consultation form to be completed.
Reiki can support orthodox medicine but is not a replacement for traditional medicine.
“Please note I do not claim to heal, nor do I offer any diagnosis, prognosis or counselling.
